Elton Jujy

Hi Peeps!  Have I ever told you guys about my piano?  It's pink and awesome!

I got it last winter from Santa's friend Harry but I keep it at Grandma and Grandpa K.'s house.  It's called a baby grand but it seems like a toddler grand to me.

I love to pick different songs to play and put on concerts for Hanky-guy.  I'm going to take lessons when I'm bigger.  Dad wants to take lessons too.  We'll probably play together because we're best friends just like Santa and Harry.

My favorite songs are "Old MacJujy," "Pat-a-Cake," and "If I Had a Hammer."  I can almost play them too.  I'm basically a musical genius.

I may even put out a holiday record, you know, for my fans.  Let me know if you want an autographed copy.

Lake

This morning it was so beautiful outside I was all, "Mom, let's go to the lake and see if we can spot any ducks or airplanes!"

I brought a few books along to read since mom isn't the speediest walker.  Good thing I'm such laid back toddler-peep.  I never even fussed about sitting - I just relaxed, snorgled in, and enjoyed the ride.

When we made it all the way around the lake I had a few snacks.  Mom has this thing about strollers and snacks and is all, "I'm not going to bribe you to sit, Juj."  She's lucky I'm such an accommodating toddler-peep when it comes to her ridiculous rules.

I really liked seeing all the airplanes on the walk.  I made sure to point at every single one and yell out "airplane" so everyone else knew to look.  I tried saying "hi" to the bikers but they ignored me.  Lame.

I also made sure I quacked at every duck I spotted.  There were a lot of ducks!  I had a pretty excellent time at the lake, and next time mom said we can bring some snacks for the ducks!

Reading

My newest favorite place to read books is in my bed.

I know it seems silly but I love it.  First I ask mom to turn on my music, next I gather up some books, and then I jump (get lifted) in.

Sometimes I'm so excited for crib reading I don't even want to get dressed first. There aren't rules about crib reading, I can totally hang out in my diaper.

Fish

Today my friend Lizie invited me to have an adventure with her.  We decided to check out some fish!

I've always been a big fan of fish so it was pretty awesome to be able to see them up close.

I really liked being able to go right up to the glass and watch the fish.  They have swimming skills just like me!

Watching fish is one thing, touching fish is disgusting.  Lizie was all, "Look at me, I'm playing with a starfish!"  And I was all, "Do NOT let that thing get my hands dirty."  My contact with the fish ended with pointing.

Just in case any of the fishes tried to find my hands and jump in, I kept them safely tucked away.

The aquarium was pretty neat because the fishes swam all around me.  What wasn't neat was mom trying to get me to pose with my back to them.  I was pretty sure something would try to munch me if I didn't watch carefully.

I loved the sharks.  Okay, confession.  I was a little jealous.  They were all, "Look at us, Juj, we're sharks and we have eleventy billion teeth."  And there I was with just two bitty teeth.  Maybe someday I'll have as many as the sharks.

Studying fish is hard work.  Naturally, snacks were involved.

After the fish, Lizie wanted to go on the rides.  I was all, "Oh sure, I love rides Lizie!"  But what I meant was, "Ugh, rides are super lame and medium scary."  I tried to be brave since Lizie is almost two and mega cool.

We went on the carousel first.  I rode Big Hank - mom thought he wouldn't be so scary since he doesn't try to buck toddler-peeps off while they're riding.  I tolerated the experience.

Next we went on the train.  I was skeptical about this decision but tried not to let Lizie see me clinging to mom for dear life...

... since she thought it was the best ride ever.

Once we finished with the death traps, err, rides, Lizie and I had a few more snacks.  It would have been more delicious if our moms focused a little more on food and a little less on poses for pictures, but that's nothing new.  They're always like, "Juj, Lizie, this one is for Windigo 2028!"  Lame.

Potty

Since I'm pretty much a grown up toddler-peep, mom said I could pick a potty seat.  Awesome.  Then she made all these rules about how she didn't want me to pick one with annoying characters or one that was squishy and prone to cracking or one that had to be cleaned out.  Lame x three.

I was afraid I'd be stuck with the awful, plain, hard seat so I pulled out the big guns - I chattered.  With my cutest face and cutest finger I pointed and said "Elmo."  Mom caved immediately (sucker) and I got an Elmo potty!

I love to sit on the Elmo potty and read.  And I totally made a pee in the potty last night.  I'm mega awesome.

Barbecue

This weekend I invited my aunties and uncles and Grandma and Grandpa P. to come over for a barbecue.  It was a beautiful day for grilling and playing!

I was a super happy toddler-peep.  It's not everyday that I have eleventy people over to play with me!

Grandma P. and I had some time to talk accessories.  It's important to always be fashionable.  I really liked her necklace.

But Grandma P.'s earrings were pretty awesome too.  I don't have my ears pierced yet.  It's not that I'm scared of the piercing or anything.

Grandma P. wears these funny things.  She says they're glasses to help her see how cute I am.  I tried them...

...but things didn't look cute to me.  They looked blurry and ridiculous.

I figured I would just stick with earrings.

Later we just relaxed on the deck, me, Grandma P., Auntie Lea, and furry Uncle Max.

It was a fun afternoon outside.

When we had enough fresh air, I moved the party inside and worked on my sliding skills with Grandpa P.  It was a great day!

Samples

Since I'm practically a grown-up toddler-peep, I figured I better start practicing my senior picture poses.  What do you think?  EHS 2028 Class President?

Chatter Skills

Even though it's not even my monthly birthday, mom said I better do a quick skills recap.  I'm not even trying to brag.  I would keep my skills a secret but mom is all, "Someday you're going to want to remember the important milestones in your life," and I'm all, "Fine, but I don't think signing 'cracker' is really a turning point for me."

So let's see.  I'm pretty busy chattering these days.  When I feel like it I can say a billion things, though "L" words are too tricky.  Some of my favorite words are yeah, no, go, hat, baby, eat, all done, binky, outside, hi, bye, sit, up and car.  But my cutest words are birthday, Mom, okay, and book.  I just started saying "mom" and turns out, it makes mom do anything I want eleventy times faster!

I really really love music.  When mom is all, "Do you want to sing a song?"  I always say, "Yeah!"  And then I request "E-I" becaue it's my favorite.  We sing Old MacJujy a lot around here.  If I'm sad it's especially important to sing it.  I love it so much I don't even care that mom's got a terrible voice.  Though sometimes I'm concerned about the type of farm that has ducks, cows, dinos, dogs and Hanks all intermingled.

My Baby Signing Time videos are awesome.  I have learned a lot of signs - eat, more, milk, all done, cracker, hat, shoes, bird, dog, fish, please, thank you, baby and bus.  Lately I've been signing "thank you" without even being asked.  Being a polite toddler-peep is important.

Last night mom caught me reading my animal book and practicing my signs.  I didn't even know she was watching me.  I was pointing to the bird and signing "bird," and then doing the same for fish.  I like to study before bed.

I'm pretty good at asking for what I want but sometimes mom and dad can't understand my very clear chatters and emphatic signing.  I do my best to say what I want but it's not always easy for a toddler-peep to be all, "Excuse me, Mom, I would like to play with my hair bands please."  Luckily mom has figured out that this phrase and "clip" are nearly interchangeable.

Well, I think that about covers my chattering skills.  Mom tried to count all my words once but the day after she counted thirty I learned about eleventy billion new ones.  I even learned a word that mom said I'm not suppose to say.  It's not my fault I'm so smart I can copy her.

Maybe mom needs to try some sign language for the words she doesn't want me to learn.
