Bunnies

My friend Lizie shares her stuff with me all the time.  The other day she was all, "Juj, do you want some awesome bunny slippers?" and I was all, "Of course!  I love bunnies!"

I guess I misunderstood "slippers."  I was thinking she meant super fun toys to play with but they were really hard to play with when they were stuck on my feet.

And the longer I wore them, the more distressed I got.  I couldn't find my feet!

I'm pretty sure the bunnies were trying to eat my feet!  I screamed.  Thankfully mom saved me from the vicious bunnies.  Next time Lizie shares animals, I'm going to make sure they aren't the kind that eat peep-feet.

Nineteen

Hi Peeps!
Great news!  I'm finally feeling totally completely better.  My cough went away pretty fast but it made my ears have a little situation (mild double ear infection).  Thankfully mom believed me when I told her my ears hurt and I got some medicine and now I'm a cured toddler-peep!

Since I failed to do an eighteen update, mom said I better do a nineteen update before I'm thirty-seven.  Don't worry, I'll mix in lots of pictures so you're not mega bored.

I'm not sure how tall I am but I'm about twenty-three pounds now.  I can wear a mix of clothes but mostly around an 18 month size, though sometimes up to 2T if it's a little squishy fitting.  See this awesome Mickey sweatshirt?  It was my mom's!  Oh, and I have four teeth now!  I even have two more that are coming soon!  Mom is all, "Wow Juj, maybe you'll be able to stop eating purees before you're thirty!"  I have a potty and I love sitting on it.  With clothes on.  I'm not super into using my potty.  I totally could, I just don't want to.

I chatter all day long.  I'm using lots of phrases, but my favorites are "read it," and "have it."  Those seem to be the most useful.  I know infinity words so mom doesn't have a count anymore.  I still use a few signs but I say most of those things too.  I even say "milk" and "more" now!  I love to sing my "ABCs" (it sounds like "ABCABCABCABC) and count (it sounds like "two two two").

Reading is my very very very favorite right now.  I love real books, not peeplet board books.  Mom got me some library books and I read them all day long.  I like to read when I eat, when I play, when I'm in the car, anywhere.  It's hard to find me without a book in my hand.  Mom and dad are all, "Umm Juj, you seem to spend eight hours a day reading, are you a genius?" and I'm all, "Obvious."  I've even memorized the end of two of my books!

I love coloring.  I have a big bag of crayons and I color all the time.  I love having my hand traced and I like when mom and dad draw Elmo and bugs.  Any time I see paper (or money or receipts or envelopes) I ask to color.  I really love coloring with pens too and mom lets me because I'm so careful.  I've never even colored the couch!

I love Sissy and playing outside when it's not mega chilly.  I always ask to play "car" - climbing around in dad's car is the best.  And when it's too cold to play outside, I like to stand at the door and look for squeaky squirrels and 'copters.

I'm still a pretty good eater when it's stuff I love, but I don't love new things.  They seem like poison.  Like cheesy baked potatoes?  Poison.  My mega favorite is blueberry bagel and cream cheese but I also love broccoli and berries and cheese and yogurt and mac-a!  Sometimes I'll eat turkey and chicken.  Sometimes.  I still drink milk bottles because milk in a sippy cup is poison.  I get milk when I wake up in the morning and before nap and bed and if I ask really really nicely after nap.

I've been a pretty great sleeper overall.  So I had this one little bad stretch where I might have been standing during nap and screaming at night.  I was just missing mom and dad.  But I decided to be nice and I've been cooperating lately.  These days I go to bed about 7:30 or 7:45 pm and I wake up about 7 am.  I usually nap for about two hours, from 1-3 pm.  I'm pretty awesome, right?

I'm going to school and swimming and library storytime and gym time and playing with friends and having lots of fun.  Life is pretty good for this nineteen month old toddler-peep!

Bath Curls

It took a long time for my fluff to fill in but it's finally growing.  I'm still pretty sure I won't have a haircut until I'm twelve, but at least I'm not bald.

And my curls are pretty awesome, especially after bath!  Unfortunately, the curls don't like the cold weather so they pretty much hide all day long.  Mom is all, "Juj, you have a mega peep-mullet!"  and I'm all, "It's not my fault we live in Antarctica with zero humidity eleventy months a year."  At least my curls are excellent after bath...

Visits

This weekend some of mom's friends have been in town.  Since I'm super into being a great hostess-peep, I invited them over to visit me and hang out.

My friend Cait came over and we read about Little Critter.  And of course, I let her read Ruby to me, too.

Later my friend Stacy came over.  Naturally I thought we should read Ruby together.  I'm just a really great Ruby-sharing-peep.  I can't wait until I have my next Ruby-reading visitors!

Reading

Since I know I talk about Ruby a lot, and I know a lot of my friends don't have the same awesome reading skills that I have, I thought I would do a theatrical reading of Ruby.  Now everyone can see how awesome she is.

Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving, Peeps!

I had a mega busy day.  In the morning I was all, "Let's go to the movies!  I've been dying to catch the new muppet flick.  I bet Elmo is in it!"

Turns out, Elmo was no where to be found.  But I did run into three giant chipmunks.  Dad let me play with them even though his favorite thing to do with chipmunks is trap them and get them to stop digging up the yard.

The movie was really great!  I also thought half was the perfect amount of movie to watch.  I probably would have stayed for the whole thing if Elmo had been in it.

After the movie I worked on my turkey-coloring skills.  I wanted to be festive, you know.

After nap I got to play outside!  Even though it used to be cold and snowy, today it was like summer!  I got to play ball, stroller, car, and scooter and I didn't even get finger-cicles!

Playing outside is super fun, especially when I don't have to wear my snorgle suit.  That thing is so restrictive I can't do any skills when I'm bundled.

In the afternoon I worked on my reading skills.  Grandpa P. read Ruby to me.  Mom and dad were all, "Sucker!" but I know Grandpa P. loves Ruby just like I do.

Dad read to me too, but if it's not Ruby, it's just not the same.

Finally it was time to go to Grandma and Grandpa K.'s house for dinner!

I was looking forward to watching football - that's what you're suppose to do on Thanksgiving, but when I turned on the game, it was Enrique instead.  It was love at first sight.

I was all, "Hey mom, can you let Santa know I'd like tickets to see Enrique for Christmas?  And maybe an autographed CD and an Enrique bumper sticker for my cozy coupe?"

Even Hanky-guy thought Enrique was dreamy.

When my boyfriend was done singing I played with Auntie Maddie.  She was all, "Let's make silly faces for the camera, Juj!"  And I was all, "Okay Maddie, but I know you're really just saying that because you don't know how to open your eyes in pictures."

I'm not judging her.  She just has an eye-keeping-open disability and I'm making everyone else aware.

Finally I had to stop goofing around and get to work in the kitchen.  I tried to make mac-a but no one seemed interested.  Lame.

Dad made his very first turkey and everyone said it was mega delicious.  My dad is pretty much a professional chef.  And my mom can heat things in the microwave.  They're an awesome team.

After dinner I played a little light music to help people relax.

And then it was time for a family picture (except Sissy because she was busy snooting stuff).  I know you probably can't believe this because I basically never take a bad picture, but this was actually the best one.

See?  Told you.

I'm mega grown up compared to last year's picture!

Before it was time for bed there was a little time left to play...

... read Ruby with Grandma P. twenty times...

... and give everyone some snorgles.

By the end of the night I was pretty tired.  It's hard work to be such an awesome and entertaining toddler-peep.  But I managed to squeeze in one quick snorgle with Great Grandma K. before I decided to take mom and dad home for bed.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

Edits

Sometimes mom is ridiculous.  Like when she took this picture of me and then discovered what she could do with it on her camera.

She made me a little bluer.

She made me less bluer.

She fish-eyed me.  Incidentally I let her know if she ever does this to me again I'll pack all my Hanks and run away from home.

She took away my color.

She turned me into a drawing.

And she put me back to regular again.

Read It

Yesterday my baby friends came over.  I was super excited to show them my favorite book Ruby.  I was all, "This is Ruby and she's the best.  I like to read about her eleventy billion times a day.  How about you read it to me?"  But my baby friend was all, "I'm don't know how to read, I'm just a baby-peep."

I tried to hide my shock behind my bink.  She can't even read?!  Maybe next time she comes to play we'll work on ABCEIEIEIEIs.  I know 5/26th of the alphabet you know...
