Yoga-Peep

It's been two years since I worked on my yoga skills but today I finally got back on the mat.

And I had an awesome time!  Even though I'm just a beginner and my tot-yoga-skills are a bit rough, I had a great time.  I worked on my cats and cows and down dogs and trees.  Plus, there was singing!  It's possible I sang louder than even the teacher!

But my very favorite part was learning how to do wall handstands!  I could have done a billion.  I can't wait to go back next week!

Day Twenty-Four

Day Twenty-Four and I got to stay for lunch, so naturally it was an amazing day.

Except, well, bad news.  This will be the last time you see me in my awesome glasses before school.  They slipped off as I was walking into school and I accidentally stomped them.  Fail.

But otherwise I had a great day filled with lots of dancing.

And in the afternoon I spent some time with my library books. I'm hoping mom brings me to pick some new ones tomorrow since I've had these memorized since about twenty-seven seconds after we brought them home.

Sass

Apparently I was a real treat today.

I can't help it if I'm full of gems.  Like telling mom to "mind her manners" or telling dad that Hanky was "stinking up the house."

What can I say, I'm a real piece of work.

Day Twenty-Three

Day Twenty-Three and I was so excited to get back to school after the Thanksgiving break!

It's pretty freezing here so I opted for indoor pictures.  I didn't want to be a peep-cicle you know.

Just the same, I felt it important to accessorize.  So I grabbed my sun glasses and stuck them on my head.  It's a pretty sophisticated look for a toddler-peep.

I thought it was going to be Jungle Animal Week but I guess my teachers got confused because it was Sea Life Week instead.  Thankfully I love fish and octopus-guys and whales and sharks so I wasn't too disappointed with the change.

It helped that today's art project involved sea life and stickers, two of my favorite things!

I can't wait until the next school day - I hope we sing the Baby Shark song!

Oh and don't worry, Hanky-guy always gets to come for the ride to school, but he waits in the car.  He's not ready for school yet.  Maybe when he's bigger.

After school Bella and I really wanted to take a picture together.  We weren't as worried about actually looking at the camera.

I picked braids for my hair today but my fluff had other ideas.  I guess it wanted to be curly because one of my braids was all, "I'm going to curl anyway!"

It was a busy, awesome Day Twenty-Three!

Thirty-One

Can you believe it's update time again, Peeps?! I'm thirty-one now! And let me tell you, I feel so much more mature than when I was just thirty. That's probably why it's been such an amazing month.

Lots of big news!  First, I got my big girl bed!  Mom was a little worried but I transitioned like a champ (obvious) and love my bed.  It's toasty, cozy, and I can get in it any time I want.  You know what that means - easy b-guck access! I've been sleeping great in my bed.  I go to bed around 8:15 pm and wake up around 7:15 am.  I have my very own clock  and I know the eight means go to bed, the six means go back to sleep, and when I see the seven I can call for mom and dad!  I'm still napping well too.  I usually nap about 1.5 - 2 hours.  I'm so excited to show everyone my big girl bed.  I don't even need a cribby anymore so it's all set up for Beef Stu now.

My other big news - I'm 100% potty trained! It happened just after I turned 2.5.  I guess that was a turning point in my life. Mom is happy to have a (short) break from diapers.  I aim to please. I always wake up dry in the morning and after nap.  Win. Now if I could just figure out how to get my pants on and off myself, I'd be in business.  Pants are tricky.

All this awesomeness is probably because I'm growing big and strong.  I am twenty-eight pounds.  I'm not sure how tall I am, but probably giant. My curly mullet continues to fill in. My sixteen teeth are expert food-munchers.  And I think my feet are closing in on size six! It's pretty easy to grow when you're mega great at eating.  For breakfast I like to have cereal (Flax or Cheerios) or et-mo (oatmeal).  But I always make sure to eat some of mom's bagel and some of dad's cereal too. If they are feeling iffy about sharing I always remind them that sharing is kind and that they are my best friends.  That usually does the trick.  For lunch I like peanut butter sandwiches, waffles, chicken, bagels, pasta, turkey, and veggies and fruit and yogurt.  And for dinner I like the same things as lunch, along with grilled cheese and frie fries, quesadillas, ravioli, and more.  I just (re)discovered pears and I love them.  Unfortunately, so does mom so I have to fight her for them.

School is going well - I got my first report card and it's a keeper.  Aside from my lack of ball-catching skills I received rave reviews.  And ball-catching seems pretty lame.  Gym class has been great too!  I'm getting pretty great at the warm-up skills.  When I'm home I love puzzles and art projects and reading books.  My spelling skills are pretty great.  If you ask me what m-o-m, d-a-d, s-i-s-s-y, s-t-u, s-a-n-t-a, z-o-o or j-u-l-i-a spell, I can tell you. I still like to rhyme and sing all day long too.  And my counting skills have improved a ton.  I can count to twenty-nine, I can count on my fingers, and I can match counting to actual quantities.  Turns out that's a pretty useful skill.

I'm pretty excited for this coming month because Santa AND Beef Stu are coming.  I'm excited for Santa because that means presents!  And I'm excited for Beef Stu because she's my sister.  I already have plans to help change her diaper and hold her hand when she takes a shower and teach her to color and do puzzles and read books to her and snorgle her and take care of her when mom has to work.  I've been helping get her room ready too.  Her diapies have Elmo on them.  Awesome.

Well, that wraps up thirty-one!

Duet

I'm pretty sure our rendition of Old McDonald could win us a Grammy.

More Supervision

Welcome to the second installment in my lack of supervision series.

The other day I was all, "Mom, can I do some marker skills?" and mom was all, "Sure! I'll just be in the kitchen eating a sandwich."

I decided to do some hand-printing-skills. Coincidentally we made hand prints in school that day - my teachers painted my hand lots of colors and then I made a hand-turkey. So I thought it would be cool to do the same at home.  First I colored my hands.

And then I stamped them on my paper. As far as I'm concerned, it was a pretty great art project. However, when I was all, "Mom, I'm painting my hands just like in school!" she was a little worried and came waddling in at full whale-speed.  I don't know why.  I wasn't being destructive, I didn't get any on my clothes or table or chair. I was just doing what my teachers taught me.

I think my hands turned out pretty awesome.  And some valuable lessons were learned.  I learned that markers are for paper and not for hands (lame) and mom learned that sometimes a little supervision isn't the worst idea.

Supervision

I'm thinking of starting a series on what a lack of supervision looks like around these parts. Here's the first installment. Don't worry, I only play educational games. And I rarely make calls to China.

Day Twenty-Two

Day Twenty-Two was a special day at school - Thanksgiving day!  We made turkey hand prints and read turkey books and sang turkey songs.

Since I'm told regularly that I'm a turkey, I was extra excited at school - it was like they were celebrating me!

Plus it was a warm and sunny November day so we got to play at the playground.  Awesome.

It was a great mini-week at school!

Blue-Puppy

The other day my friend Jack was all, "Hey Juj, I know you haven't seen me since I was a newborn and now I'm bigger than you, but do you want to come over and meet my new puppy?" and I was all, "Of course I do!"

I wasn't too sure about Blue-puppy at first since he kind of wanted to jump on me and snoot me and lick me and taste my shoes.  But then I discovered something we have in common - a love of books!

I picked a book about puppies - it seemed like appropriate subject matter - and I read to Blue.  He was pretty into the story.  My dramatic flair probably helped.  I'm an excellent story-telling-peep.

I had a pretty fun time reading to Blue but Sissy-Dog doesn't have to worry.  I think I still prefer dogs that don't try to munch my toys and jump on me and lick me.  Sissy's desire to mind her own business makes her just right for me.

Jailbreak

I'm pretty excited for Beef Stu to arrive.  I thought she was coming the other day.  I looked outside and saw snow so I was all, "Mom it's snowing, that means Beef Stu is coming!" But then later it melted so I was all, "There's no more snow.  Beef Stu isn't coming yet."  Turns out, I think she's excited to meet me too!  Late at night she even tries to sneak out!

Day Twenty-One

Day Twenty-One and I decided to close out Farm Animal Week festively - I wore my pig shirt.  I'm pretty into themes.

Despite feeling like I needed to wake up unreasonably early, I had a great day in school.  My teachers thought I was a happy, chipper toddler-peep.

Naturally I saved my best fussing for mom.  You're welcome, mom.

She doesn't mind.  She thinks I'm cute.  Sucker.

And if you're wondering about the glasses, what can I say?  I'm exceptionally stylish all of the time.

I've heard accessories make the outfit.  I do what I can.

Day Twenty

Woohoo, Day Twenty!  This week is Farm Animal Week.  I'm pretty much a farm animal expert.  I've been singing about Old MacDonald for years.

It was pretty chilly this morning so I was all, "Mom, we better take my picture inside."

Hanky-backpack, Hanky-guy and I found a good spot for pictures.  Even mom mumbled something about decent lighting.

It seemed a bit sunny to me.  Thankfully I found the proper accessory for such an occasion.

And then I was ready to go!

And yes, I know I wore a jacket in my carseat.  And yes, such an atrocity did make mom unreasonably tense.  But don't worry, my straps were body-numbingly tight and I'm told pretty soon mom will have an alternate plan for the car so that I'm not riding around in danger.

Fever

Yesterday I was a little under the weather.  I got my first fever. I think I handled it well.  I still had a good attitude, I was just a bit tired and lazy and my cheeks were a bit hot pink.  Luckily a little grape medicine and a nap and I was back to being a cool toddler-peep. I'm just glad I was only hot for a few hours.  You can't even believe where mom had to put the thermometer.  Ewww.

Cheeeese!

Every once in a while, particularly when mom isn't paying enough attention to me, I'm all, "Mom, take my picture, cheeeeeeeeeese!"

And wouldn't you know it, she does.  She can't resist a picture op!

Bed!

Today was a beautiful, warm November day so I took mom for a quick waddle around the block.  When we got home, I was in for quite a surprise.

I went up to my room and my cribby and dresser and chair were gone!  I was all, "Big Hank, was I robbed?!?" and Big Hank was all, "No Peep, you're finally getting a big girl bed!"

Whoa!

Amazing!  I was so excited to have daddy build all my furniture!

Not that it wasn't fun having my mattress in the living room to jump on for the past week, but I think it's even better in my room.

While dad finished building everything and mom put away all my clothes in my new dresser, the guys and I got acquainted with my bed.

I waited on the floor while Mom put on the finishing touches - my owl sheets!  It took a while.  Have you ever seen a whale try to make a bed that's obstructed by a guardrail?  It's not pretty.

But then my room was all ready for me!

I have a cozy bed with all my guys and my own pillow and blankets.  And I have a nightstand with my clock so I can watch for the seven in the morning.

I have a new peep-sized dresser too.  There's lots more room for playing and somersaults in my room now.  Even Big Hank can stretch his legs.

After bath I was all, "I don't need my cribby anymore, I'm a big girl."  But big girls still get b-gucks.  Obvious.  So do daddies sometimes.

Mom and dad snorgled me in like regular and I was all set!  Now I can sleep in my cozy bed and they can wonder when they'll hear from me.  Awesome.
