Visitors

Even though Elise was finally out of mom's belly, she had to stay in the hospital for a few days.  Luckily it wasn't a problem for me since I'm a very adaptable toddler-peep. I had a fun time staying with Grandma and Grandpa K. while mom and dad and Elise were in the hospital.  And I still got to visit the hospital every day!

Elise had lots of other visitors too.  Grandma P. visited.

So did Grandpa P.  Elise kept a close watch on both of them.  She didn't want to sleep through meeting anyone.

I'm pretty sure I was her favorite visitor though.  I'm also pretty sure she shared my not-so-impressed sentiment about being forced into the same t-shirt every time we were together.  Even in the hospital mom is a bit ridiculous about pictures.

(And if you're wondering, of course Hanky-guy came too.  He had to check out the baby.)

Since Elise was so kind to give me a camera present, I decided to give her a present - Herbie Hippo!

She loved Herbie.  I can tell they are going to be best friends just like me and Hanky.

Some uncles and aunties visited Elise too.

Elise was a gracious host.  She didn't even spit up on anyone.

I had fun visiting Elise each day. I also had fun reliving my babyhood.

January Second

On Wednesday morning, January 2nd, I woke up to find mom out of bed and dressed.  At 6:45 am.  Whoa.  She told me it was time to get Beef Stu out of her belly!  So she and dad went to the hospital and I kept Grandma and Grandpa K. and Auntie Maddie company.

At the hospital they got mom all ready.  I'd like to say she handled it like a champ, but let's be honest, she's kind of wimpy.  Rumor has it she was begging to be knocked out within minutes of getting her spinal.  Meanwhile, dad got to wear a ridiculous clown suit.  Maybe it wouldn't have looked so silly if he hadn't put it on backwards.

And then it was time!  Beef Stu came out of mom's belly yelling.  I guess she wasn't quite ready to be bothered.

Mom was just happy because her very favorite doctor pulled Beef Stu out.

Once she was out the nurses checked on Stu.  She was 6 pounds, 12 ounces and 19.5 inches (which, incidentally was off by an inch, but we'll just pretend she was born tall).  Even though she had to grow in mom's belly with clotty-guy (a blood clot and torn placenta) Stu was a healthy peeplet.  Phew.

I'm not sure who she looks like yet, but I hear she has my tongue.

Stu got a bath so that she'd be all fresh and clean and then it was time for me to visit her!

Turns out, I know why mom's belly was so big!  Stu had a present in there for me - she brought me my very own camera.  I love it!

I was so excited to meet my sister.

I held her and snorgled her and sang her songs.

I'm pretty sure she was happy to see me too.

I love my new baby sister and I'm excited to introduce everyone to Beef Stu, aka, Elise McKinley.

New Year's Day

Bear with me Peeps, I'm a little behind, but I'll catch up.  I've been so busy with my new big-sister-skills I haven't had time for blogging.

New Year's Day was a pretty exciting day.  It was the last day of growing Beef Stu!

Good thing, too.  I was pretty sure mom was going to explode if her belly got any bigger.

Plus, the belly was starting to get in the way of things.  Have you ever seen a whale try to wash dishes?

So, on New Year's Day mom and I spent some time getting things done, like mall-shopping-skills and bag-packing-skills and things like that.  And mom even picked me up a few times.  I'm pretty ready for her belly to let me be carried all the time again.

We had to get all ready because we knew that Beef Stu would be coming in the morning!

It was a pretty fun busy day!

And things got more exciting when I woke up the next morning!

Day Thirty-Four

Day Thirty-Four was the end of Snowman Week.  It was a great week and thankfully I wasn't required to come into direct contact with any snow.

We made chalk snowman drawings.  I was able to put my circle-drawing-skills to good use.  Who knew I was an expert snowman-drawer?!

You can totally see the snowman, right?!

If mom were on top of her game, I would have worn my snowman shirt to school.  But that's okay, it's easier to be sassy in glittery sparkly clothes.

Day Thirty-Three

I know Peeps, if you're really paying attention you'll notice Day Thirty-Two is suspiciously missing.  I was so busy having a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa K.'s house that day I forgot to have them take my picture.  My bad.  Thankfully I'm back on track now!

Day Thirty-Three was the start of Snowman week.  We made awesome snowman   pictures, read snowman stories and sang snowman songs.  I loved it all.  Someday I'm going to make my own real snowman!  Or maybe I'll just have dad make one and I'll supervise.  I do have a policy about touching snow...I don't care to.

School was great, but I especially loved that mommy and daddy brought me.  It was an awesome special treat.

You'll excuse me if I'm a few days behind in my blogging skills.
I've had a busy week.

Brave

Happy New Year, Peeps!

I'm not really into making resolutions.  I'm more interested in year-round betterment and continual self-improvement in order to be the most awesome toddler-peep ever.  So today I worked on my bravery-skills.

Last year I was pretty unsure of rides but this year I'm super brave.  So when I spotted the Blue's Clues ride I was all, "Auntie Maddie, let's ride in circles together but not actually push the up and down button!"

Even though I look apprehensive, I actually had a great time.  And mom was all, "This is just like Dumbo - you're practically ready for Disney!"  WIN!

After rides Bella and Jack got balloons for all of us and we had a good time walking around. It was so great to see them!

It was a fun morning at the mall.
