Car

Peeps!  I got a car for my birthday!  I didn't even have to take a test or get a license.  Mom says I'm already a better driver than the old man that hit her parked car last week.

My car is awesome and it gets great mileage.  Mostly I like to cruise the neighborhood in it.

Sister Lab was all, "Can you take me for a ride and let me hang my snout out the window?"
And I was all, "Sorry Lab, this is a one-seater."

But I let her sit next to me on the driveway - best I could do.

My car has this great trunk for storing toys and Hanky-guy and stuff I find along the way.

I think I've perfected my coy "Heyyyyy" for when cute boy babies drive up next to me.

Sometimes Sister Lab and I like to watch for squeaky squirrels.  Now that I have a car I can be all, "Hey Lab, there's one, let's get him!"  And then I just drive over super speedy!

Driving is so much better than riding in a stroller.

Of course, Hank likes to come for rides too.  I can fit him no problem.

See you later Peeps, I've got places to go!

Filler

I've been so busy practicing my stomping and my chatters I haven't had time to blog.  I'm sorry, Peeps!  I'll try to catch up later.  In the meantime, here are a couple more pictures from my birthday party just to hold you over (grandma, Heather).

Mobile

When you turn one, everyone is all, "Hey, do you know how to walk?"

Obvious I know how to walk.

I even have awesome balance.  Sometimes.

One

Well Peeps, it's official.  I'm all grown up.
One.
I started out like this:

And now look at me:

I've had an awesome year.  I know a billion things, like how to take a few steps, how to say some words, how to scream until mom let's me play with the phone, how to snorgle so dad holds me in the night and how to share food with Sister Lab.  I might not have any teeth, but I can still eat like a champ.  And mom is very proud that I've never been sick!
I bet the next year is going to be even better!

Veggies

I've been trying to tell mom I'm not a baby for a while.  Mostly it falls on deaf ears.  But tonight she was all, "Hey Juj, do you want to eat big girl veggies for dinner?"  And I was all, "Roasted wild mushrooms in a red wine reduction?"

Not quite.  But they were still so delicious I shoveled them in.
Mom said I had a man-sized serving.  Hmph.
She had a man-sized serving of my birthday cake and I didn't say anything....

Easter

Today I took a field trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa P.  I had so much fun playing with them and exploring their house.  It probably would have been a perfect day except that I had a little situation in the car that may have involved forty-five minutes of screaming and mom trying to give me milk in the parking lot of a bar on the side of the highway.

But that part is largely irrelevent.

When I got to Grandma and Grandpa P.'s I had lunch at the table like a big girl.

I got to sit in an antique highchair!  I bet it was older than mom even though dad says she's an old lady.

After lunch it was time to get festive.  I happily wore my ears and bib even though the Easter Bunny forgot to come to my house.  That's right - no basket, no chocolates, no eggs, nothing.

If I didn't have a house full of presents I might have been bitter.

Dad liked to dress up as bunnies with me.

Sister Lab, on the other hand, was not so impressed.  Maybe if the Easter Bunny hadn't forgotten her too she would have been more happy to wear the ears.

Happy Easter, Peeps!

Birthday Party

Today was my birthday party!  It was probably my best day ever!

There were treat bags for my little friends...

... and Juj cookies for my bigger friends!

Of course, there was a cake!  Actually, there were two, but this was my favorite because it's a picture of me and Big Hank!

When the party started I played with friends for a while.

And then it was time for presents!  My Auntie Maddie got me a Hank puppet!

My friend Stacy got me some diva glasses.  They're for when we lunch together at the Country Club.

Since today was my friend Bella's real birthday, she said that she would test out all my toys, make sure they're fun, and make sure they taste okay.  She's a great friend.  I was only a little nervous that she'd try to sneak them into her diaper bag.

Opening presents was super fun!  I love everything I got!

After presents it was time for cake.  Everyone sang to me and I tried to play with fire.  Apparently you're not allowed to play with fire, even if it's your birthday party.  Lame.

My cake looked pretty...

... but I didn't really like the taste.  You know what I did like?  Ice cream.  Amazing.

When I was done eating mom's ice cream I had some time to talk accessories with Stacy.

I had the best first birthday party!

When it was time for the party to end I kindly showed my guests to the door and then took a two hour nap.  What a great day!

Chatting

Mom and dad are always trying to get me to say things.  Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.  I like to keep them on their toes.

So what do you think, do I say anything?

Packages

Okay Peeps, this whole birthday thing gets more and more awesome!  I keep getting packages in the mail!  Yesterday I got a box that came all the way from New York!

My friend Nora lives in New York and she picked some books for me!  First I read the notes she wrote me.  My favorite part was where she said she'd be here in September to play with me!

Then I read the books she sent.  I was super excited to get books all about New York.  Unfortunately, I was even more excited that mom said the "m" word (milk) right after I started reading so my enthusiasm is not properly conveyed in the pictures.

Today another package came!  I always like to study the packages carefully.

Mom helped me open it up.  I found some netting!

Even better, there was a family of Hanks inside - three babies and a mama!  Mom said they were for bath but dad said I could play with them anywhere I wanted.

Of course, I tasted them, did you even have to ask?  They tasted like imported Chinese plastic with a hint of lead paint.  Delicious.

I love my new guys.  Maybe I'll read them my new books!
