Biking Skills

Just getting some practice in so I'm ready for the Peep Triathlon.  As long as the other two events are Run-On-Sentence-Building and Mixed-Berry-Munching I'm totally going to win.

Crazyface

Sometimes I have to do things like this to discourage mom's picture-taking habit.

Breakfast

I'm a creature of habit.  Pretty much every morning I eat the same breakfast - etmo (oatmeal) with banana and applesauce and cinnamon.  It's delicious.  But the other day I decided to test mom.  So instead I asked for waffles and cucumber.

She totally came through for me!

And when I was finished with my cucumber I found a nice little spot to store the leftovers.

Flashback

Here I am, a twenty-five month old toddler-peep.

Can you believe this is me exactly two years ago?  Just a little squishy peeplet.

Puzzle Skills

I really love working on my puzzle skills.  And my Hanky-guy-in-a-train puzzle is one of my favorites.  I always start with putting together Hanky's head and body.  It's taken a lot of practice...

... but I can finally do the whole puzzle by myself!  All twelve pieces!

Chatters

I have some new favorite things to say and mom is all, "Peep, we better write these things down so we don't forget!"  She under-estimates my memory-skills.  Anyway, here's what I like to say:

1.  "I'm having a little trouble ____"
2.  "There's no reason to ____"
3.  "Yesterday ____," which covers any event that happened prior to today.
4.  "I have a good idea, let's ____"
5.  "Oh that's my favorite thing!"  This can refer to nearly anything I'm loving at the present moment.
6.  "Wait a sec, I need to tell you something..."
7.  "Hang on, mom, ..."

It's also worth noting that I like to keep dad informed about everything.  That's why I call him about eleventy times a day, whenever something significant happens or I have a question about something.  I use any play phone I can find, and if I'm desperate, my hand works too.  I'll dial and then I'm all, "Hi dad, I don't know what that noise is," or, "Hi dad, do you know where the missing puzzle piece is?" or, "Hi dad, do you want to come home and play with me after resting time?"  What can I say, dad just has all the answers.

Graduate!

I'm a graduate, Peeps!  Today was my last day of school!  It was a pretty awesome year!

For my last day I did some of my favorite activities - art skills...

... and flannel board!  I probably would have had more time to play but I had a little case of inertia this morning and had a hard time getting out the door.

During circle time we sang all my favorite songs (except Jingle Bells), like Itsy Spider, Wheels on the Bus, Baby Shark and the Hip Hip song.

And at the end of the day I got my graduation certificate!

I'll probably frame this and hang it on the wall next to the spot I'm saving for my Harvard diploma.

Teacher Brenda was a great teacher.  She taught me lots of things, like how to participate and focus during circle time, play flannel board, and eat snack like a civilized toddler-peep.

I had so much fun playing with friends, doing arts and crafts, and learning awesome songs.

I'm excited for summer now but I'll miss my class so much.

I've grown up a lot since the first day of school!  I have less chub, more fluff, better shoes and a vocabulary that rules.

I can't wait until fall when I start real preschool!

Squeak

You're not going to believe this, Peeps, but I got another awesome pair of shoes! They might look like regular flower sandals, but don't be deceived.

They squeak!!!  My Grandma P. got them for me and I love them!  When I run I make a squeak squeak squeak!  And what's better?  I can get them on and off all by myself.  So pretty much I put them on first thing in the morning and wear them until bedtime.

Sissy dog thinks they're pretty awesome too, but she's partial to squeaky stuff, so I'm not surprised.  I just hope she doesn't try to munch them.

Etmo Skills

Lately I've been thinking, now that I'm a two year old toddler-peep, I better start expanding my skill set.  I decided to start with spoons.  It's not that I don't prefer mom and dad feed me, but I've finally let them see that I can totally eat my etmo all by myself if I want to.  It's just that I'm 50/50 on whether I want to.

Whoa

Holy buckets, Peeps!  What happened to the time?!?  Okay, I'll tell you.  I got to have another birthday party (yep, that's two parties in the last week!) and I got a billion awesome presents and I've been so busy playing clubhouse and 'copter and compando and puzzles that I haven't had time to work on my blogging skills.  But don't worry, I'll show you all my new stuff tomorrow.  And you can believe me.  I mean, it's not like I still haven't posted Christmas pictures or anything.

Mickey Surprise

Today was an awesome day - my friends Lizie and Joey and Linnea threw a surprise birthday party for me!  And there were kazoos!  But the best part - it was Mickey themed.  They obviously know me well.

I'll be honest, the Mickey party hats were not my favorite part.  Don't get me wrong, I loved looking at them, but the wearing part - not so much.

Thankfully they didn't hold my anti-hat stance against me.  I still got presents!  I got some pretty sweet Mickey tattoos and a book about Hanky-guy.  Amazing.

After presents we did a lot of playing and jumping and playing and mess-making.  You know, all the stuff that makes the best party.  We were so busy we forgot to have lunch before we all had meltdowns.  The good news is that no one likes a wasted cake...

...so after I took a quick three hour nap I got to go back to their house for pre-dinner-appetizer cake!

I know what you're thinking.  I didn't really care about cake when I turned one.  I have much more sophisticated taste buds now and I LOVE cake.  I've matured a lot in a year.

I love cake so much I used a fork to feed myself, and if you know me, you know that I see utensils as entirely optional unless someone else is using them.

It was such a fun all day party day!

Thank you Lizie and Joey and Linnea!  I loved my Mickey party so much!  (I would have had cake for dinner too if mom weren't so mean.)  I love you guys!

Studying

I really like working on my alphabet skills.  When I'm feeling cooperative, I can say my whole ABCs correctly (except I still skip N and O, sue me), even the ending part.  Awesome.

But to make sure my skills don't get rusty, I like to regularly go through my flashcards.

So while mom gets dressed in the morning, I study.

Naturally my toy bin is the best place for learning.

Bedtime Stories

Dad and I like to read books before bed.  Sometimes we read together, but mostly we read alone.  We have different literary tastes you know.  I prefer the gripping story of a bear and his ripped pants.  Dad likes to work on letter skills.

Sleepy

Well Peeps, I inadvertently achieved a medium-lame milestone today.  It was my first no nap day.  I didn't do it on purpose - I had an unfortunate diaper situation during resting time and forgot to mention it to mom.  So she left me to talk to myself for over an hour rather than attending to my needs.

When mom finally came in to check on me I was all, "Mommy you came in here!  I wasn't crying or fussing or saying 'mommy where are you' 'cause it's resting time."  (Direct quote.) And mom was all, "You're right Peep, you followed all the resting time rules.  Let's go to the park!"  Awesome!  Maybe I should poop during nap more often!

Of course, post-park I was just a tiny little bit sleepy.  Turns out, I maybe need that three hour nap a lot.  But it sure was fun to spend the afternoon at the park instead of in my crib!

Magnets

This afternoon I got home from a peep-venture and found a package on my front steps.  And it was for me!!

Auntie Stacy sent me toys and clothes and presents!  It was basically amazing.  I'm not totally sure but I think my favorite part is the mermaid magnet game.  Don't worry Peeps, I know it says for ages 6+ but I can totally play it now.  I have advanced magnet-playing-skills.

I love the mermaids and fishy-guys and crabby-guys!

I love my magnets so much I played all day long.  I even played before and after bath time.  Mom let me pick and I picked super-speedy bath with no toys just so I could get out and play magnets again.  They're that fun.

I can't wait to wake up in the morning and play magnets again!

B-Guck

I could totally give up my b-guck any time but I think Elmo is pretty hooked.
