Thirty-Four

Time flies, Peeps!  I'm thirty-four!  In fact, I've been so busy growing up I missed my thirty-three update.  Oops.

I'm loving thirty-four.  Practically three years old!  But I still like to reminisce about my younger years.  Usually from the Bumbo seat.  It helps me to see how much I've grown up! These days I'm wearing mostly 3T clothes but even some 4T shirts sometimes!  I'm growing big and tall.  My fluffy mullet is curly and getting really long.  But don't worry, I have no plans to cut it.

I've been mega busy with my baby sister.  I am pretty much the best big sister ever.  I am kind and sweet and never jealous.  Basically I rule.  I love to help get things ready for when mom changes Elise.  And I like to play with her on the play mat and read her stories and sing her songs.  I tell her I love her all day long.  She's my best little friend.  And she loves me too.  She smiles and chatters me!  I bet she'll say "Juj" any day now.

My biggest news since my last update is that I'm totally done with diapers!  I had been resting in them and sleeping in them at night.  But since I haven't had a wet one in eleventy billion months I get to wear underwear all the time now!  It's pretty awesome.

When I'm home I love love love reading books.  Books are my favorite.  I probably spend three or four hours a day reading to myself and my guys and Elise.  When I'm not reading I like to play 'noculars or play with my guys (stuffed animals) or play basketball hoop or dance to Malt Shop Oldies.  And I love art projects, especially ones that have glue sticks involved.  My art room (the dining room in theory) is a good place to look for me - I have play-doh and paints and stickers and lots of projects that I like to work on and since I'm a pretty responsible toddler-peep, I can use any of them even if mom and dad aren't around.

My sleeping skills have been pretty great - even mom and dad are impressed.  Although, compared to my sister, it's not hard to be the family's token awesome sleeper.  I go to bed around 8:15 or 8:30 pm and sleep until about 7 am.  I always wait until my clock says "7" and then I call for dad or knock on my door.  In the morning I watch a show with dad while he works out in the basement and then we eat breakfast together before we get mom and Elise up.  They like to sleep in, probably because they get so much time together in the night.  I've been taking great naps too.  I usually sleep 2 or 2:30 pm until 5 or 5:30 pm.  My best is so toasty cozy I can't help but snooze.

I'm going to school two days a week still (yes, I know I'm behind on those pictures but I have them all and I'll share them soon!).  I love singing and reading in school.  And I like to know the theme of the week ahead of time so I can be all ready and festive.  I haven't been to gym class or peep yoga in a while but I practice my yoga skills all the time, especially my wall-hand-stands.  My guys like to watch and learn.  I got to go to Library Music Class the last month and a half and I loved it - we sang songs and read books and played instruments and afterward I always got to pick new books.  I could stay in the library all day but mom usually cut me off after two hours.  Lame.

Don't worry.  Even though I love Elise, Hanky is still my best guy.
That wraps up thirty-four - home stretch to my birthday, Peeps!

Snooze

Tonight mom was all, "Stu, it's time for bath!"

Obviously I was totally ready.

Bumbo

I got a new chair today, Peeps!

I admit it doesn't do much for my figure but I feel pretty grown up in it.

Plus, it's much easier to keep a watch for boobie flavored boobie when I'm upright.

Even Juj thought it was pretty awesome. She was all, "I'm having flashbacks to my peeplet-hood."

Hank wanted to try it out too. And Juj wanted a picture of Hank trying it out. I can't imagine where she got the idea that every moment in life must be obsessively photographed.

Later, when my head was feeling too heavy for unsupported activity, I shared my seat again and Juj read to me.

I suggested War and Peace but she went with nursery rhymes. Lame.

I really like my new chair...

...and I really love my big sis.

Thumb

Pretty soon after I was forcibly removed from the womb Juj was all, "Hey Stu, you should try out a b-guck, they're delicious!"

I was a little hesitant at first but now I can see the appeal. If I'm not going to get boobie flavored boobie, silicone flavored silicone is probably the next best thing.

But lately I've been worried. There's a lot if talk around here about the B-Guck Fairy coming soon. And if she tries to take my gucks, I'll probably get so upset I'll send poop straight up my back.

So I decided just to be safe I better have a back up plan.

It's not ideal - I haven't totally mastered not poking my own eye out.

And sometimes I forget where the damn thing is when I'm really pissed.

But at least I know the fairy won't take it away. I don't think. That would be pretty messed up if she steals thumbs.

Test

I'm testing something new. I'm trying out my blogging skills from mom's phone. You know, for when mom isn't sharing her computer.

Oz

By now you know it's pretty typical for mom to get some absurd idea for pictures.  How many pumpkin patches have I been thrown in?  How many Halloween costumes do I own?  You get the idea.

So I didn't even act a little surprised when mom was all, "Hey Peep, do you want to take some Wizard of Oz themed pictures?" I would have protested but she whipped out an awesome twirly dress for me and I was totally sold.

I can't say the rest of the group felt the same way.  The Tin-Lab was pretty pissed about her hat.  And the Lion was more colicky than cowardly.

But I sure enjoyed myself.

As it turns out, if you give a lion a b-guck, she'll probably fall asleep.  (Hmm, that sounds like a good book proposal for a certain series I like...)

And we did make a pretty cute pair.

No shock to me, mom's vision didn't exactly come to pass...

...but we sure tried.

Once mom gave up, I got to work on my twirly-dress spinning skills.

Hank liked twirling, especially because he was a little crushed to find out there were no giraffes in Oz.  He's looking into a discrimination lawsuit.

Tubby Time

A few weeks ago I finally had enough with the lame, freezing cold sponge baths so I was all, "Mom, it's time for me to get a real bath!" and mom was all, "Okay Stu, I think you're ready."

I was born ready.  Turns out, my belly button was not.  But a quick cauterization and it was time.

(My sis had her first bath after a long belly-button-induced wait too.)

Anyway.  I loved it.  True I kept my signature pensive look going the whole time.  But I loved it.

A real bath is so much better than a wimpy old sponge bath.  Now I can't wait until I can join Juj in the big tub and play toys!

Strong

So here I thought a peeplet's job was to eat, sleep, poop, and scream as soon as mom starts to eye her bed.

Turns out, I was very wrong.  Whenever I'm awake and my belly isn't too full (so what, once every four days?) mom is all, "Stu, it's time for tummy time!" and I'm all, "Mom, my neck is already stronger than yours."

Clearly I don't need any babyish tummy time.  I'm ready to lift weights.  I'm ready for spinning class.  I need a gym membership.

Little Loves

Hey Peeps!
Happy Valentine's Day from me and Elise!

We hope you have a lovely, chocolaty, heart-filled day!  And if you get too many cookies or balloons or stickers or cookies, I'm available to help with the surplus.

Cheeeeeese

Yikes, Peeps, where did the week go?  I don't know about you but I've been a busy peeplet.  I spend my days eating, sleeping and screaming, the latter keeping me particularly busy.

I've also been working on new skills.  It was hard for me to decide what to master first.  I thought about walking or playing the violin.

But I decided I'd start with smiling.  It's a pretty easy trick and it has mom and dad completely amused.  And funny thing - the more I smile the less I see pamphlets about the circus scattered around the house.
