Tuesday Chatters

I'm pretty chatty these days.  Mom loves when I say funny things like, "Oh hi Sissy, how are you?"  Daddy loves when I invite him to hang out with me, "Daddy build some blocks too" or "Daddy sit couch read books" both do the trick.

I'm also learning lots of things, like names.  Sometimes cheese gets in the way, but if you ask me my name, I can totally say Julia/Jujy and my last name too.  And yes, I know mom's name too, but Mommy-do suits her.

My counting skills are really coming along.  I still haven't found a use for 4, 5 and 6, but when I do I'll start including them too.

I've learned billions of letters.  Sometimes I need a little help with the alphabet but I can point out most letters and I even know a lot of their sounds!  As soon as I learn what c-o-o-k-i-e-s spells, I'm going to be in business, I can tell.

Elmo!

A few weeks ago I had the best night ever!  EVER!  Mom and dad took me to see Elmo and all my favorite guys!  There was a show and singing and dancing and so much awesomeness!

As soon as we walked in I was all, "Holy binkies!  Look at this place!"

Before Elmo was ready to dance and sing for me, I got to play!  First I tried out my grouch skills.  I tried to make my best grouch face.

Then it was time for a special pre-show preview!  Dad put me up on his shoulders so I could have a better view.  I'm not that tall yet.

Bert and Ernie and Zoe came out!!  I waved and waved and was all, "Hey guys, it's me Juj, your biggest fan!"

I got to visit Big Bird's nest.  I would have taken a picture in the nest but all these kids got in my way.  They didn't have very good turn-taking skills or direction-following skills.  Lame.

I forgot about Big Bird's nest pretty quickly when Rosita came out!  Dad got me a front row spot so I got to say hi to her and hug her and tell her that I love practicing my Spanish skills with her.

I was so so so excited to meet Rosita.

I've definitely decided front row is the way to go.  I'm pretty much going to always insist on front row seating for all my future shows.  It's amazing.

Once Rosita finished hanging out with me, I spent some more time exploring Sesame Street.

It was fun to push the buttons and hear what my Sesame friends wanted to tell me.

Sometimes I got to play with the characters by myself...

... but sometimes I had to share and take turns.  Good thing I've got pretty good manners for a toddler-peep.

I would probably live on Sesame Street if they had any homes for sale.

Dad and I love cookies.  So does Cookie Monster, so we were excited that he was willing to take a picture with us.

Our last stop before the show was the coloring station.  I worked on my coloring skills while mom made comments about all the little fingers that touched the crayons before me.  Sometimes she's lame.  And yes, I got sanitized right afterward.

Finally it was time for the show!  I was a little confused about why mom and dad made me leave all the fun of Sesame Street to sit in a chair and stare at nothing, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited patiently.

Waiting is easier when snacks are involved.  And I'm glad I waited - the show started and it was AWESOME!

All my Sesame friends were there, dancing and singing my favorite songs.  I waved to all of them, for pretty much the whole show.  They waved back.  I know they were excited to see me because the letter of the day was J for Julia!

I'm not sure I've ever been so excited.

I danced and waved and danced so much!  Everyone sitting near me thought I was an expert waver.

By the end of the show I was pretty tired.  It was a late show and I was up past my bedtime.  So mom and dad let me snorgle Hank and have a little bink (note - this show was before my bink got banned to the crib).  But don't worry, I still had a free hand to wave.

Doesn't this look awesome!?!?  I can't wait until Elmo and all the guys come back into town!

Yummy

I love cracker-bunnies!

Dilla

My dad is an excellent food sharer.

Sometimes when he's eating he's all, "No Juj, this is my pot pie."  Or, you know, whatever he might be munching.  But if I ask a couple more times, he always gives in.

And when he shares quesadilla, I'm all, "I need more now!"

Frogs

Sometimes when I play with Bella we forget our sharing skills or we forget that it's not nice to sit on a friend's head.  So it's important to remember just how much we love each other.

We love sitting together and making it look like we're posing for pictures when really we're making fun of mom for having a frog on her head.

We love to giggle at funny songs.  Or, maybe it's not the songs, maybe it's mom's voice, I'm not sure.

We love to hug each other.  (We don't love when the hug ends up in us toppling over, but that seems to happen often.)

And we love to hug frogs together.  It seems a bit safer.  No toppling over with frogs.

Legal

Well Peeps, it's time for another update.  Hard to believe but I'm twenty-one today!  Of course, if you ask me I'll say I'm "seben," (and Hanky-guy is eight), but that's another story.  So, here's what twenty-one looks like on a toddler-peep!

Twenty-one is a lot like twenty.  My favorite activity is still reading.  I get tons of library books all the time and it only takes a couple times reading them before I learn most of the words.  I like to pile all my guys on the couch and read with them.  If not the couch, we read in my fort or clubhouse under my slide.  I love all kinds of books, especially books with animals, but my favorite right now are Clifford books, Arthur books, Little Critter books and of course, Ruby.

Even though I love reading books, playing toys is fun too.  I'm super into Little People.  I have a bus, plane and dollhouse and I play with "the guys" all the time.  I also have Legos that I really like.  It's fun to build towers and then have them go "kaboom."  I also love coloring.  I always ask for a pen and paper and then work on my ABCs.  I can draw a circle (sort of) but I really like when mom and dad draw turtles for me.

I'm still a pretty good eater, especially when it comes to bread products and cheese and fruit.  I would eat only blueberries and blueberry bagels if mom let me.  It helps that I have nine teeth now (with no sign of any more)! I drink milk when I first wake up in the morning and a little before bed at night, but only from my sippy cup.  I used to snorgle in and have it before bed but now mom is all, "You have to brush your teeth after milk, Juj."  Lame.  And of course, the biggest news - my bink stays in my crib.  I'm allowed to have it in mom and dad's bed first thing in the morning when we snorgle and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but that's it.  It's a lame rule but I've adapted well because I'm awesome.  And if I really need some time with b-dah, mom and dad let me sit in my crib with books.

I'm still a pretty great sleeper.  Mom isn't entirely impressed with my napping skills but I'm older now, I don't need billions of naps.  I nap about 1-1.5 hours a day.  But at night I sleep from about 7:30 pm to 7:30 am.  So I think mom should chill on the napping.  Anyway, I don't have time to nap when I'm busy in school, gym class, and playing with friends!  I'm a very busy toddler-peep!

I'm a very happy girl almost all of the time, and I'm a very chatty girl too.  I talk in 3-5 word sentences a lot of the time.  Like tonight mom was reminding me about gym class tomorrow and I asked, "Mommy come to gym class?"  I'm learning my numbers - I can count to ten (as long as you don't mind that I skip 4, 5 and 6) and I can sing some ABCs and tell you what some letter sounds are.  My colors still need some work.  I love singing songs, especially the Wheels on the Bus, Baby Shark, and Itsy Spider.  But mom and dad think the best thing I say is, "I lub you."  With "I lub you " and "please" I can basically get anything I want.  I'm researching ponies.  That's about it, I think twenty-one is going to be a good month!

Wakey Wakey

Pretty much my favorite thing ever is when Bella wakes up from her nap and is ready to play with me again!  If she'd just get on the one hour nap bandwagon, I wouldn't have to wait so long.

Table

My friend Bella is back from vacation!

We were so happy to see each other again.  Best friend toddler-peeps shouldn't spend a week apart.

We decided to play under the table because it's pretty much the funniest place to play.

We had so much fun playing and laughing under the table.

Even though we're best friends, sometimes we have differences of opinion when it comes to the ownership of toys.  Luckily we work it out just fine on our own and always end up friends in the end.

Interviews

Mondays are good days for peep-chatters.

Mom loves to interview me at lunch.  She's all, "Juj, you're stuck in your chair now you have to perform like a circus elephant," and I'm all, "Lame, mom."  But sometimes I comply anyway, because it's hard to keep all my cute inside.

Sorry you have to hear my mom "sing."  I know.  It's not good.

Cooking

My friend Ansel came over the other day.  We decided to work on our cooking skills.

Since we're such excellent multi-taskers, we worked on squatting skills too.

Ansel is an excellent cook.  He made pancakes and berries and cookies, all of my favorites.

I let him try some of my cooking too but he wasn't too interested.  I hope I didn't inherit mom's cooking skills.

When we finished cooking I read Ansel a book while we did our best to not smile at the same time.  It's tricky but we did pretty well.

I love when Ansel comes to play!

Craig

The other day I woke up from my nap and found an awesome dollhouse in my playroom!

I was all, "Oh my goodness, Santa must have come again!" and mom was all, "It wasn't Santa Juj, it was a great Craigslist find!"  I'm not sure who Craig is but I hope he knows I appreciate the present!

I love playing dollhouse.  My animal guys love to play dollhouse too.  (If you listen mega carefully you'll hear me say "Monkey eating (ba)nanas."  Because that's what monkeys do when they sit at kitchen tables.)

This is how cute I look when I'm playing and talking to the guys.  I'm super chatty when I'm playing dollhouse.

I spend a billion hours a day playing dollhouse now.  My animals and guys love to play in the house, hide on the roof, ride in my bus and plane, and then fall off the roof.  Ka-boom.  Thanks Craig!

Contest Results

Well Peeps (the three of you that played my contest game), here's the answer you've been waiting for!  That mulleted peep-picture I posted yesterday is special because it's the very last picture mom will ever take of me and my very best friend bink together outside my crib.*  Grandma K. guessed it right and I didn't even whisper the answer to her!

Bink and I have been best friends since I was one day old.  Back in those days, bink was practically the size of my face!

We were best friends from the start - we even rode home from the hospital together!  It's hard to believe, but I met bink even before I met Hanky-guy!

We never were apart, me and bink.

No matter if I was getting snorgled...

... or strolled through the neighborhood...

... or rolled through Target, bink and I were completely inseparable.

For fear that Sissy might get a funny idea, I always held bink close.  Literally.

Even after Hanky-guy and I met and hit it off...

... binky remained a dear, close friend.

No matter which way the binky spun, we were together.

But alas, the day came (two days ago, to be exact) when mom was all, "It's time, Peep."  She was tired of seeing this.

She said it was time to trade in this...

... for this.  So Peeps, no more pictures of my buddy bink.  Instead, lots more pictures of my nine (!) teeth and my charming smile.

I miss my old pal bink but we see each other when I rest and it's a glorious reunion.  And during the rest of the day there are lots of smiles to be captured by mom's incessant picture taking.  (Lame.)

And my smiling face is as cute as my binkied face, right?
* Disclaimer: Due to the fact that I'm behind in my blogging-skills, my binkied face may actually appear again on this blog, but I promise it's a picture from prior to January 16th.
** Another surprise disclaimer:  I'd bet my spare Hanky-guy I'll find some exception to the crib-only rule, I just haven't thought of anything yet.
