Thirty-Two

A few days late but I'm due for my thirty-two update.  It's been a pretty awesome, present-filled month!

I'm not sure I have any earth-shattering news.  I've just been a regular toddler-peep.  My big girl bed continues to be great.  I love to sit in it and read books during the day, and that's only sort of related to easy bguck access.  I've been going to bed between 8 and 8:30 pm and sleeping until 7-7:45 am.  At night I'm pretty well behaved about sleep.  I don't wander or get out of bed and in the morning I just call for mom and dad when I see the seven on my clock.  My naps have been less than awesome, according to mom anyway.  At the beginning of the month I decided that napping for an hour seemed sufficient.  Mom thought this was lame.  Lately I'm napping 1.5-2 hours a few days, and then a 45-50 minute day, and then back to longer again.  A fair compromise I think.  I didn't think I needed to nap at all but mom was all, "The bguck fairy will take your bgucks if you don't rest.  Bgucks are only for kids that nap."  Lame but a risk I can't take.

My potty skills remain solid.  I even nap in underpants now!  I've only had one wet morning diaper in almost four months but since my closet is filled with diapers, I still use one at night.

I think I'm bigger and stronger.  I've had eleventy billion people tell me a look taller.  I'm practically super-model tall.  I got new shoes - size six!  Okay, so my feet don't actually measure a six yet but I'm close.  My fluffy mullet is getting super long.  I'm sure all this growth is from my excellent food-munching skills.  I've gotten especially good at eating peanut butter cups and cookies.

I had another great month at school.  I love learning new songs and doing art projects.  At home I sing all day long and spend a lot of time with my art supplies.  I'm a very creative peep.  I can even draw people now.  And most of the time the nose is below the eyes.  But mostly books are still my favorite.  New library books are my extra mega favorite.  When I get new books I like to spend the whole day reading them.  I also love playing school (I'm the teacher, mom and dad are my class), and playing marching band.  When dad gets home from work we like to play hide and seek, run around the house screaming, and put-Hanky-on-the-fan-and-watch-him-spin.  All awesome games.  Our noise level always impresses mom.

Gym class has been great and I've been doing peep-yoga class too.  I like to do tree pose, star pose, down dog, and hand stands on the wall.  I'm going to take a break from these classes though, just until Beef Stu is big enough to come with and cheer for me.  Instead, I'm going to start musical storytime class at the library soon!  I can't wait.  I ask mom if it's time to start pretty much every day.

I've had a pretty great thirty-two months running things around here.  I think I'm ready for my promotion.  I was born to be a big sister.  And probably a neurosurgeon.  Or poet.  Or interpretive dancer.

Happy thirty-two to me!

Christmas Day!

After my late night on Christmas Eve, mom and dad were all, "It's okay if you want to sleep late, Peep," and I was all, "Thanks guys, but that seems pretty lame."  So I woke up about the same time as usual.  But instead of milk and a little TV time in mom and dad's bed I was all, "Let's go downstairs and see if Santa filled the stockings!"

He did!  And he even ate the cookies I left except a little piece that I munched.  It's not good to waste food.  And the reindeer ate the carrots I left out too!

My stocking had so many awesome things, but I think the blue nail polish was my favorite. Santa knew that's just what I wanted!

After stockings mom and I played while dad made pancakes.  I love pancakes!  I dressed up as Minnie-peep.

And then mom found a Disney parade on TV.  It was amazing!

I waved to all the parade guys.

I would have watched the parade all day, but there were pancakes to eat and presents to open.

Present opening was so fun because almost everything was for me.  And even the stuff that wasn't for me required the nimble fingers of a toddler-peep to open.  So I pretty much opened everything.  I got some Peppa Pig guys!

And my very own blue peep-shovel!  I might help dad shovel snow sometime, but for now it's pretty fun to shovel my toys.

I helped Sissy-dog open her presents.  She got a new flashing ball!

I got some lipstick (chapstick) of my very own.  Mom was all, "That stuff is chemical free and made for peeps!" and I was all, "A little red dye 40 won't kill me, mom."  But it's fine.  If she needs to buy organic hippie lipstick for me she can.

Dad and I took a break from presents to relax and read my new book.  But don't worry, I was back in costume playing again before long.

Grandma and Grandpa P. stopped by to see my new toys and play with me for a little bit.  We had fun testing everything I got and playing school and gym class.

Later I got a peepi-cure!  Blue nails, a dream come true.

And then I worked on my new puzzle.  It's pretty awesome - first I build the regular puzzle, then I make some buildings, and then I can drive my car all around it.  Amazing.

I had a great Christmas.  I love my presents and the cookies I munched and presents and having dad home to play and presents.  I just have one more teeny tiny present I'm waiting to arrive.  Any day now!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve I went to a party at my Auntie Susan and Uncle Eric's house.  All of daddy's family was there to see me!

I wore a fancy Christmas twirly dress and even participated in the Christmas cheer with reindeer antlers.  For a little bit.  Except when mom had the camera out, and then I did my best to chuck them.

I had lots of time to play with everyone.  My favorite game was "open and close the front door."

After lots of playing we had dinner.  I had Mickey-nuggets and pouch and bread and fruit.  I'm pretty sure that's a classic Christmas dinner.

After dinner it was time for more playing!

Dad thought after dinner was nap time.  Lame.

I woke him up and announced to the group that it was present time.  A peep can't wait all night for presents!

I got a billion awesome presents!  My uncles and aunties and cousins and grandparents gave me all my favorite things, like toys and puzzles and toys and stickers and clothes and toys and dress up clothes.  I had so much fun I didn't even notice that I was up hours past bedtime!  It was a great night.

Stockings

Since mom is new to this Christmas thing, she can't be trusted to cover everything.  Thankfully she has me and dad to remember things like stockings.  Maybe by next year they'll even say our names!

Cookies

The other day I was all, "Dad!  We have to make Christmas cookies!" and dad was all, "Okay Peep, but don't get too excited, mom will probably eat them all while we're asleep."

So, we got to work.  Dad has a lot of rules about only making Christmas shapes at Christmastime.  Luckily he can't say no to me so I got some Mickey shaped cookies too.

I got to make the shapes after dad rolled the dough.  Don't worry, I scrubbed my hands before I got started.  I'm a very germ-conscious-peep.

Making cookies was super fun.

Dad and I make a great team.

The next day it was time for decorating!  Mom was in charge of frosting colors so we got bright cookies that weren't entirely Christmas-y.  At least I don't think orange and turquoise are Christmas colors.  Spreading the frosting was a little tricky for me so mom and dad helped.  I like to keep my hands clean you know.

But I'm an expert sprinkler.  I made sure there weren't any under-sprinkled cookies.

I have to say, I did a pretty awesome job.  The cookies turned out great.  If you don't believe me, just ask mom.  She's had most of the container.  And I'm pretty sure she's hiding some under her pillow.

Big Santa

It's possible that the real-live Santa makes me feel a little shy.  But find me an eleventy foot inflatable Santa and I'm ready for pictures!

Day Thirty-One

Day Thirty-One and a bonus school day!  The only thing better than Holiday Week is an extra day of Holiday Week!

I got a call in the morning from my teacher.  She was all, "Juj, you have to come play with us today!" and I was all, "I'd love to and this works well since mom is so busy with work today."  It was so fun to have an extra day of school.  We even went to the gym two times!  Plus, more Christmas crafts!  It was a great end to Holiday Week.  And then next time I go back to school, I'll be a big sister.  Hooray!

Day Thirty

Day Thirty and the end of Holiday Week.  Tear.  I love Holiday Week.

I figured I better be festive and wear my snowman shirt.  Especially because it was a little snowy outside.

And since it was snowy and cold, I did my best sassy-school-picture pose on the chair.  I really hate when I get snowflakes on my snout, so outside pictures were especially unacceptable.

And then I got all bundled up to head for school.

For art project time we made Santas.  A lot of my friends went for the abstract-Picasso-Santa.  But I prefer realism.  Pretty awesome I think.
