Fifteen Check-Up

Hi peeps.  What can I say.  I'm a little disappointed.  Here I thought if I behaved, slept well, ate my vegetables and never got sick, mom would stop taking me to the doctor.  Turns out, I have to have check-ups even if I'm a healthy toddler-peep.  Lame.

I'll be honest.  I'm not a fan of my doctor.  Mom is all, "Ohhh you have the best doctor ever.  He's so funny and nice and smart."  And I'm all, "Fine, why don't you have him stab you with needles and poke at your ears and teeth?"
The good news is that the doctor said I'm growing well and didn't even judge me for being 20 lbs 15 ounces and 28.5 inches tall.  He said I'm doing just fine in the fifth percentile for height.  He thinks I'm awesome for saying so many words and said that it's just fine that I like to drink some milk at 6:30 am and then sleep another hour or two.  Win!  I think he mentioned something about bink staying in my crib but I'm hoping mom didn't hear that part.  Even though I sort of cried through the whole exam, the doctor still said I'm a very healthy awesome toddler-peep.  And then I got a finger prick and a shot and I cried some more.

Here I am, blissfully unaware today.  And just for fun...

... this is me at my 12 month appointment...

... my 9 month appointment...

... and my 6 month appointment.  I've grown up a lot since then!

Rides

Today was another hot and stormy day so I was all, "Mom, let's go to Mall of America and try out the rides!"

We started with the carousel.  I wanted to ride the Hank but mom said I should try a horse because the horses go up and down.  Lame.

I held on and waved to the kids who were watching me.

I was a little nervous when the carousel started spinning a million miles an hour at the same time the horse was trying to buck me off, but mom stayed close and it was pretty fun.

Next we tried out the train.  It was much more my speed - slow.

Mom and I buckled up in case things got bumpy.

Just to be sure she didn't get scared, I snuggled up with mom once the train started moving.

We tried the balloon ride last.  I was super pumped.

But then we started flying through the air at a million miles an hour, practically going upside down...

... I decided the balloons were lame and not fun.

We moved on to Legoland and that was awesome.

I got to build some lego buildings and relax a while too.  Afterward mom took me to a lovely soap store so we could sample a lot of hand sanitizer.

Before we left I got to meet Blue.  He was pretty friendly.  I asked him if he knew Chica or the Wiggles but he said no.  Lame.

The amusement park was pretty fun, as were the snacks afterward.  I would try the rides again.  Except the balloons.  And probably not the carousel.  But definitely the train - that was great.

Activites

I love having adventures.  Thankfully mom splurged when she bought her new phone so there's pretty good documentation of my awesomeness even when we're out.  Here are a few of my favorite weekly outings.

I like to push my own cart when we go to the store.

It's much more fun to be able to run all over the store picking out delicious snacks rather than being strapped into a cart.

My steering skills needs some practice but I'm working on not running into old people.

I love going to Library-School (story time).  We read books, sing songs, dance, play toys and have a great time.  After class there's more play time in the library.  Bella and I like to sit at the table and do puzzles.

But when mom is all "smile for the camera," I pretend I can't hear her.

I love exploring the neighborhood with Lizie and Joey.  Mom has figured out how to chauffeur all three of us around at once.  We wave to all the neighborhood squirrels, puppies and trees.  And we almost never throw things out of the wagon so that mom has to retrace her steps to retrieve things.

Carseat

After fifteen months and five days it finally happened...

... I have a big girl carseat now!

Gym Class

I'm a very health-conscious toddler-peep.  So recently I was all, "Mom, I think it's time I join a gym.  I'm going to need to workout this winter."

Mom thought my idea was great so we decided to try out My Gym.  It was so much fun!  There was a toddler-coaster that I loved riding.

But my very favorite part was working on the stair-master.  I went up and down the steps all by myself.  I already think my thighs are firmer.

I asked mom if she wanted to try them out.  She didn't.  She prefers not working out.

I also did some slide climbing skills.  I climbed all the way up by myself.  There were tons of fun things to climb and try out.  I loved all of it except circle time.  That was medium lame.  I mean, I love dancing and singing but not when there are so many things to be climbing!

After my workout I made sure to properly hydrate.  I'm probably going to join the gym, but mom wants me to try out one more next week just to be sure.  I can't wait!

Coloring

Mom bought me some crayons and my very own coloring book so I can explore my artistic side.

I'm pretty much a natural because I knew just what to do.

Coloring was fun.

And I only took one quick taste just to see what I was working with.

And then I did one quick check to see if the crayons had cell phone service.  They don't.
Oh, and that's not chocolate on my face or anything.

Swimming Lessons

I've been taking swimming lessons since I was a six month old baby peep, so I'm practically a professional swimmer now.  Today was my last day of lessons for a little while.  Mom says we're taking a session off to enjoy some outdoor pools.

To celebrate the end of the session, I wore a new (hand-me-down) suit.  It's important to be stylish in the pool.

I've come a long way since I started lessons...

... see?  I was just a chubby peeplet on my first day of lessons.

I've really loved my lessons.  If I'm feeling agreeable I know how to kick, splash, jump in (fall forward on command), reach and pull (paddle), blow bubbles (lick the water) and go under (not fight it when people dunk me).

Bella is in lessons with me.  She's a professional underwater swimmer.  I'm still a beginner underwater, but we have a great time together anyway.

After swimming we get showered and dried.  Bella wasn't impressed about getting her picture taken - mom was slowing up getting to snack time.  But look - you can see my toofs in the picture!

After swimming we get snacks.  Mom doesn't always appreciate the importance of snack time so I was all, "Mom, why aren't you getting me more snacks?"  And she was all, "I have to take eleventy billion pictures of you Juj, someday you'll thank me."  I told her maybe she should start by learning how to use the camera so my fluff doesn't look orange-yellow in pictures.
